Here's some dorky behind the scenes footage from handling on the race. Unlike races like the Iditarod which are off the road system, the Copper Basin 300 Sled Dog Race is entirely on the road system. Therefore each musher is required to have at least one handler on this race. The job of the handler is to follow the team from checkpoint to checkpoint. There is no outside assistance allowed, so the musher is entirely responsible for all the dog chores. When the team arrives, we have a parking spot
