Big discoveries often need big detectors, and Fermilab’s Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment is one of the biggest. Fermilab plans to send beams of neutrinos and antimatter neutrinos through the earth from Chicago to South Dakota. Earlier this month, the Mu2e collaboration moved the experiment's calorimeter into the Mu2e Hall! 🙌 Physicists will use Mu2e to search for the never-observed direct conversion of a muon into an electron, a process predicted by theories beyond the Standard Model.
