I hadn’t planned to give him a hat, but you all completely disagreed and it forced me to reconsider. I actually think those stories do a better job of capturing the process than this video does. Ever since I learned that ice crystals can form on soap bubbles, I’ve wanted to get a Becorn inside one. It took some thinking and testing, but I figured it out last summer. I was worried the weather wouldn’t cooperate this winter. When it finally snowed, there was only one night with low temperatures, so I stayed up til 4 in the morning working to get the shot. I'm excited to try this again in daylight, but that might have to wait until next year. | David M Bird
