Amy Sherald’s most famous work is a portrait of former first lady Michelle Obama, unveiled in 2018. Looking at the piece now, Sherald says what stands out most to her now is the dress. “I’m deeply in love with this dress. Just the red, the pink, the yellow, and then the black and gray.
