Columbus weather: Severe weather threat increases
It is a Weather Alert Day as the Storm Prediction Center has increased the severe weather threat over portions of central Ohio to a level 2 slight risk. Thunderstorms are expected to pop up during the early afternoon and last into the evening hours.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The threat of severe weather has passed with only scattered rain showers remaining across central Ohio through Wednesday night. Drier air sweeps in on Thursday and a strong southwesterly wind pushes air temps to 80 degrees.
The severe weather threat is over for Thursday, but Friday is another First Alert Weather Day due to the potential for strong to severe storms on Friday evening. The threat on Friday is the highest that we've had this week, but still only a slight to enhanced risk as classified by the Storm Prediction Center.
